Man shot and killed in Webber Road

Germiston police are investigating the murder of a 50-year-old man.

Germiston police have confirmed that they are investigating a murder after a recent shooting in Webber Road, in Lambton.

“Officers were called to the scene of a shooting at about 1pm,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

“Upon arrival they found a 50-year-old man in a pool of blood, in a double-cab bakkie.”

“He had been shot and killed.”

The preliminary investigation found that 29 bullets had been fired into the vehicle, with an unconfirmed number of bullets hitting the victim.

“According to an eyewitness a Ford Focus blocked the road just before the robots in front of the Clarendon Hotel.

“Two men jumped out of the vehicle and began to shoot at the man in the double cab, before returning to their vehicle and driving away,” said Raphulu.

No arrests have been made and the suspects remain at large.
