Man allegedly assaulted during theft

Four men allegedly assaulted a man in the Zuma Section of Katlehong before stealing his cellphone.

While walking home in the Zuma Section of Katlehong recently a man was allegedly assaulted and robbed by four men.

The victim told police that the men, aged between 18 and 25 years old, assaulted him with their open hands before searching him and taking his cellphone.

While investigating the incident officers from the Katlehong Police Station received information from the community on the whereabouts of the four men accused of the crime.

“Police travelled to the address given where they found the four men and arrested them,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, of the Ekurhuleni West cluster.

The men were charged with theft and held at the Katlehong Police Station pending their appearance in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court.
