Wet weather puts damper on week’s fixtures

Luso Africa FC back in action after wet weather puts halt to week’s fixtures.

Last week’s rainy weather meant that most of Luso Africa FC’s fixtures were cancelled.

The club’s SAB team were the only team to get some time on the pitch, taking on Dream Team, at the Jim Fouché Stadium in Nigel, on Saturday.

The team beat their opponents 3-0, maintaining their unbeaten winning streak in the league.

Fixtures for the week:

  • Luso’s first division veterans will face Kempton Park Football Club on Wednesday evening, at the Kempton Park home grounds.
  • Luso’s second division veterans will face Olympia Italian Football Club in an away match, on Wednesday.
  • Luso’s SAB team will face Shumba Football Development at the Methlareng Stadium in Tembisa, on Saturday.
  • Luso’s first and reserve senior sides will play Sporting FC in a friendly away match at Sporting’s home grounds, on Saturday.

This match will be the last friendly match before the Eastern Local Football Association’s (ELFA) Super League gets underway.

The league was scheduled to start in the first week of March but was postponed as the weather has hampered several clubs pre-season preparations.
