Another win for Germiston

Germiston City Cricket Club continue their winning streak in the Saturday Fourth League of the Easterns Cricket League.

This weekend saw yet another win for the Germiston City Cricket Club as they bowled Tsakane Cricket Club over in a home match on Saturday.

The club won the Easterns Cricket League’s Saturday Fourth League match, which was their first this half of the season at their home ground, Germiston City Sports Grounds, by 29 runs.

The home team won the toss and elected to bat first.

They posted a total of 142 runs, with one wicket in hand in their 35 overs, despite the slow outfield.

Germiston’s top run scorers were Jacques Nel, with 48 runs, Jan Aucamp, with 22 runs and Donald Cesiko, with 19 runs.

It was then Tsakane’s turn to bat.

The visitors were restricted to 113, for nine, in their allotted 35 overs.

Rudolph Swart, Johan Botha, and Rudi Le Roux were Germiston’s top bowlers for the day.

This was the third win for the club with the team beating Reiger Park Cricket Club and Actonville Cricket Club in previous weeks.

This Saturday, the team will travel to Bedfordview to take on their local rivals, the Bedfordview Cricket Club.
