Don’t make yourself a target – say police

Police concerned as the number of rape cases reported to them is increasing.

Police are urging women in Primrose to take special care of themselves and not become victims of crime.

“The number of rape cases being reported to the Primrose Police Station has increased, causing great concern for us,” said communications officers for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

Most of these cases have reportedly taken place in the Makause, Marathon and Delport informal settlements.

“We are appealing to the women and younger girls to stop visiting the taverns or walking alone, especially at night.

“Many residents take unnecessary risks.

“We need the support of our community to make Primrose safe,” Maome said.
