Alleged thieves hold shopkeeper at knife-point

Eyewitness account helps police trace alleged business robber.

A man was recently arrested by the Katlehong South police in the Mofokeng Section for a December business robbery.

It is alleged that the 26-year-old suspect entered a local tuck shop, with a male accomplice, and held the shopkeeper at knife-point before stealing a number of items from the shop.

The men then left the store on foot.

Police began to investigate the case and with the help of an eyewitness were able to find and arrest the man.

“The second suspect still remains at large, officers are continuing the search for him,” said Capt Maga Ndobe, of the Ekurhuleni West cluster.

The man will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
