Donations for those in need

Community opens their hearts this festive season, by donating to those in need.

The festive season is a time for family and celebration, however, this isn’t always the case as some families are left with nothing to eat.

With this in mind, Helpende Hand Boksburg began its annual Christmas collection which supplies food to 42 families within Germiston and Boksburg.

Hearing of this, AfriForum Primrose, the Primrose Residents Against Crime (PRAC) and Carrobella’s Coffee Shop, in Primrose East, decided to get involved.

Two weeks ago the team asked the community to open their hearts and donate non-perishable foods.

These donations were then presented to Alida Reed of the Boksburg Helpende Hand to help towards the organisation’s festive project.

Alida, who was lured to the coffee shop under false pretences, was overwhelmed with joy when she saw what the team had accomplished.

“I cannot say thank you enough.

“This food will be divided in packages and given to families who really need them,” she said.
