Man found with suspicious substance

A 53-year-old man was nabbed by Primrose police for the possession of drugs.

Several areas in Primrose have been identified as drug hotspots by the Primrose police.

During a recent patrol in one of these areas officers noticed a man walking in Magaretta Road.

“When he noticed the police van he became noticeably uncomfortable, which made officers suspicious,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

They stopped the 53-year-old and asked to search him.

“During the search they found a plastic zip-lock bag containing a substance believed to be drugs,” said Maome.

He was arrested and taken to the Primrose Police Station where he was formally charged for possession of drugs.

He will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
