Tip-off leads to arrest of suspected dagga dealers

EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members nabbed two men in Dukathole.

Two male suspects were arrested in the early hours of Friday morning, following a tip-off provided by members of the Dukathole community.

The pair were found in possession of dagga, estimated to be worth R800 on the streets.

EMPD Drug Enforcement Unit members acted on the information and cornered the two suspects, on Mini Street in Dukathole at 4am.

Twenty-seven ziplock bags of dagga and about 200g of dagga still to be packed into ziplock bags, were found in their possession.

The arrested pair, aged 24 and 27, were detained at the Germiston Police Station on charges of possession of and suspicion of dealing in, an illicit substance.

They were expected to appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court, on Monday.
