Your safety is important, be proactive

The Din-Al-View CPF urges people to do the “little things” to help keep themselves safe.

The Din-Al-View CPF is continuing to step up its patrols and striving to have the element of surprise.

“Our patrollers have noticed that residents leave gates wide open during the day, as well as at night.

“Residential post boxes have not been cleared of post, pamphlets and newspapers etc,” said Teresa Robertson, the events coordinator for the Din-Al-View CPF.

“It is the practice of some business’s to physically put little ‘pamphlet flags’ at the edge of driveways, and stick their pamphlets to residents’ gates.

“We are asking residents to take note of what is in their driveways and attached to their gates and to please remove these pamphlets.

“Residents, believe me, you are being watched.

“I say this not to cause you to be paranoid or to panic.

“I say this to make you aware that the ‘little things’ are what potential criminals are looking at.”

Robertson added that over full post boxes and unremoved pamphlets stuck to people’s gates and pamphlets placed as little flags at the edge of driveways are a “signal” to criminal elements.

“Your house is your safe haven and your home. Protect it by removing these ‘signals’,” she said.

“We are not against any business or any entrepreneur trying to make a living and putting food on the table.

“All of us are feeling the pinch and it is our responsibility to provide shelter, food and protection to our families.”

The CPF relies on businesses in many ways for support.

Without the continual sponsorship received from various businesses, and without businesses providing the organisation with various facilities, the CPF would not survive.
