Police discover suspected stolen property in man’s possession

Man arrested for suspected stolen property during police patrol.

During a routine patrol of the Sunnyridge area, officers from the Primrose Police Station received a report of a suspicious man walking around the area.

Police travelled to the address given and found an 18-year-old man.

They asked to search him and discovered a GPS navigation system, two black jackets and two packs of cigarettes, valued at approximately R2 000.

“When he could not explain where he had obtained the goods he was arrested on suspicion of possession of suspected stolen goods,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

The accused has since appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where his case was postponed for plea and trial.
