Germiston continue their winning streak

The Germiston City Cricket Club celebrated another win in the Easterns Cricket League.

The Germiston City Cricket Club celebrated their fourth consecutive win on Saturday, when they beat the Geluksdal Cricket Club.

The teams faced each other on Geluksdal’s home grounds, in Brakpan, in the Fourth League of the Easterns Cricket League.

The visitors won the toss and elected to bat first, knocking up a score of 195 runs in their 35 overs.

Jan Aucamp and Jacques Nel were commended on their batting skills, scoring 87 and 57 runs, respectively.

Germiston then took to the field and managed to bowl the home team all out for 179 runs in the 34th over.

A good bowling performance by Rudi Aucamp assisted Germiston to victory; he bowled seven overs for 31 runs and took four wickets, while Riaan Lerm assisted with a strong bowling performance of seven overs for 49 runs and took two wickets.

The visitors won the match by 16 runs, with two wickets in hand.

The team will next face Reiger Park Cricket Club, on Saturday, at the Germiston City Sport Grounds.
