Personal best time reached at charity walk

Jeffrey Beattie is training hard at a local gym to become competitive.

The St Giles and Avalon Walk to raise funds for people with disabilities was held in Bedfordview, recently.

Jeffrey Beattie took part in the charity event and recorded a personal best time of 44 minutes for the 5km walk.

Beattie is currently training at Unique Physique in Primrose under the watchful eyes of coaches Marius Wessels and Jean Bertillon.

He is doing resistance training to strengthen his legs, calves and core muscles.

The charity event raised about R80 000 for people with disabilities.

Beattie is training hard and is excited to compete in his first night race which is set to take place on November 2.

Unique Physique’s staff and clients wish him all the best for the event.
