Police aren’t doing enough, says victim

Police continue to investigate violent house robbery.

A woman was left traumatised after she was robbed at knifepoint in her Marigold Road flat recently.

She explained to the GCN that she had just arrived home and entered her flat when a man jumped out of her bathroom and held a knife to her throat.

“He took my cellphones and attempted to take a few other items,” she said.

Since the robbery she feels the police have not done enough to trace and arrest the suspect.

“I gave them the serial numbers from the cellphones that were taken and asked them to trace them,” she claimed.

“They haven’t done so to date.”

In addition to this she claimed that the officer who opened the case told her when she arrives home late she should come to the police station and ask the officers to accompany her home.

“I have done this and on several occasions have been met with a bad attitude from the police,” she said.

The GCN contacted the Primrose police to find out what progress had been made on the case and if they were keeping the victim informed of their progress.

“The Primrose police are currently investigating a case of house robbery following the incident.

“The complainant is receiving all the feedback from the investigating officer Det-Sgt Sam Ngqoleka,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
