Reconciliation fund-raiser a success
Gender equality was the focus for the Spring Women’s Day held at the Church of Reconciliation.
Parkhill Gardens’ Church of Reconciliation held their Spring Women’s Day, at the church, last Saturday.
“This is our event that is aimed at raising funds for the church,” said the event organiser, Lerato Mosane.
“The funds will be used towards upgrades at the church.
“We are also looking at making it an annual event, in the second week of October.”
The day’s events included a raffle, lunch and a speech by Mpho Letlape, who was the guest speaker for the day.
The GCN caught up with Letlape.
“We need to understand and know the importance of inclusion in gender equality,” she said.
“As women we can’t force inclusion, but there are a number of things we can do to influence being included in all that we need to be included in.
“We also need to work towards striving for equity, so that both men and women are at the same level.”
The women in attendance were dressed in beautiful and bright clothing, in line with the event.
