A woman from the Delport informal settlement was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend and neighbour recently.
The pair, aged 33 and 44 years old respectively, were arrested after the incident and charged with assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.
While opening her case at the Primrose Police Station, the victim alleged that she had come home from work and found her boyfriend and her neighbour sitting on the bed in their shack.
Upset by the discovery, she left and went to her sister’s shack.
“Her boyfriend and neighbour followed her to her sister’s home where they argued and the pair allegedly assaulted her,” said Maome.
The victim was beaten with a baton and a wooden rod, sustaining injures to the upper body.
Using the descriptions given by the woman, the accused were traced and arrested.
