Athletes start on the right foot

Athletes gathered at the Germiston Stadium to compete at the Track and Field meeting that was held at the Germiston Stadium.

Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) kicked-off the 2016/17 track and field season on September 17, at Germiston Stadium.

The season’s return has been eagerly awaited by athletes and coaches.

“Every year the athletes grow towards excellence in their performances,” said CGA’s Mandla Radebe.

“After a great 2015/16 season, which saw a number of our athletes representing the province at national and international competitions, we are looking forward to seeing more short distance athletes doing their best, and those in middle and long distance excelling.

“We anticipate a very competitive season, especially after the impressive performances displayed at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games recently.”

Radebe also said that the Track and Field Commission is ready to fire the gun and get the season started.
