Man found with suspected stolen property

An off-duty policeman from the Germiston Police Station arrested a man while en route to work.

A 34-year-old man was recently arrested by an off-duty officer from the Germiston Police Station.

The officer was on his way to work when he saw a suspicious man pushing a generator on wheels and covered with a blanket.

He stopped the man and asked where he had obtained the generator from and where he was taking it.

“The suspect could not clearly explain where the generator had come from and he was arrested and taken to the Germiston Police Station,” said Capt George Raphulu, head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

He was charged with possession of suspected stolen property.

The case and value of the generator are under investigation by the police.
