A woman in the Marathon informal settlement was recently shocked when she found a foetus in her toilet.
“She told officers that her 33-year-old friend had visited her.
“During the visit the woman complained of pain and bleeding and asked to use the toilet,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
It is reported that when she returned from the bathroom she asked her friend to call her an ambulance because she needed medical attention.
“She was taken to hospital and the complainant not suspecting any foul play, went to the toilet,” Maome said.
She was shocked to find a large amount of blood, and upon further inspection she found a foetus in her toilet.
“She called her friend and asked her why she had done what she had done, the accused simply apologised,” Maome said.
The woman decided to open a case of concealment of birth at the Primrose Police Station.
The suspect was arrested and detained at the Primrose Police Station she will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
