CCTV footage assists in arrest

Five employees from a local company were arrested after they allegedly stole four boxes of L5503 straps.

Five men, aged between 32 and 36 years, were recently arrested by the Primrose police.

The arrests were made after a local business owner became suspicious when stock seemed to be missing.

He asked the security personnel to give him the CCTV footage of the property.

“He claims that in the footage he watched five of his employees loading four boxes of L5503 straps into the back of a bakkie before the vehicle sped off,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“The men then returned to work as if nothing had happened.”

He called the police to the business where he opened a case of theft.

The accused were arrested on the spot and taken to the Primrose Police Station.

They will appear in the Germiston Magistrate’s Court soon.
