Young players tackle tough opponents

The Elsburg Eagles had a tough weekend in Springs, with one win and eight losses.

The Elsburg Eagles Rugby Club travelled to Springs, on Saturday, for the Springs Junior Rugby Day.

The club’s teams faced off against sides from Springs, Kempton Park, Benoni, Boksburg and Vereeniging, but, unfortunately, it was another disappointing weekend for the club, with only one win from the nine matches played.

The results did not, however, dampen the club’s spirits, with chairman Tyron Smuts once again congratulating the teams on their efforts.

“Thank you to our players; they played with so much passion,” he said.

“Though they were unable to get through their opponents’ defences and score, they learnt a lot and are improving each week.”
