During a heated altercation with his girlfriend, a 30-year-old man allegedly stabbed her 11-year-old child, recently.
“The victim told police that her boyfriend had broken down the door of her shack in the Makause informal settlement in a drunken rage,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
It is alleged that he broke a bottle and attempted to stab her, but he missed and stabbed her child in the upper body instead.
The police were able to trace the suspect and he was arrested.
He will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.
