Local boys help school’s rugby teams dominate at top competition

Nine boys from Germiston helped their school’s rugby teams to victory.

Nine local Germiston boys were part of Leeuwenhof Akademie’s rugby teams who played in the Golden Lions finals for medium schools, recently.

Kevin Lange, Reinhardt Lombard and Reino Oosthuizen played for the u-16 team.

This was the third year in a row that the u-16 team were crowned as champions.

For the u-15 team the local players were Reanhardt Steyn, Jared Steyn and Dante du Plessis (captain), while Tiaan Lange (captain), Ryan Swanepoel (vice-captain) and Keagan Lauder played for the u-14 side.

All three of the teams walked away with the trophies and the title of Golden Lions champions.

The school is extremely proud of the teams.
