Spreading the love

A team from the Germiston customer care centre took time out of their busy schedules to spend their 67 minutes on Mandela Day with the children at the Bertha Gxowa Hospital’s paediatric ward, last Monday.

Members at the Germiston customer care centre chose Bertha Gxowa Hospital as their beneficiary this Mandela Day.

The team headed to the hospital’s paediatric ward to spend their 67 minutes with the children.

“We just wanted to show the children some love,” said the customer relations manager, Mpho Nhlapo.

“Children need all the love and support they can get, and we just wanted them to know that we care.”

Water department employees were also part of the initiative, together with the health and social and urban management departments.

“Love must be spread every day and not just on Mandela Day,” said the urban management manager, Londiwe Mtshali.

“It is also for that reason that this visit will not be the last but will be followed by many more.”

Nhlapo also agreed with Mtshali and said, “We will establish an ongoing relationship with the hospital.”

The team also gave the children party packs filled with sweets, juice and other delicious treats.

“We also gave the nurses blankets as they play a key role in taking care of the children,” said Nhlapo.

“We will also recognise other hospitals and spread the love.”

“We want the community to know that the Germiston customer care centre cares,” said Mtshali.
