Update: Man found hanging at lake leaves suicide note

The Germiston SAPS confirmed that a 52-year-old man was found hanging in one of the shelters at Germiston Lake on Monday.

“The man left a suicide note and the police were summoned to the scene,” said Capt George Raphulu, the head of communications for the Germiston SAPS.

“An inquest docket has been opened for investigation.”

ER24 was summoned to the scene by members of the public who found the man.

“Assessments showed that no signs of life were present,” said Russel Meiring, ER24’s spokesman.

“Unfortunately, nothing could be done for man and he was declared dead at the scene.”
