Support Germiston Child Welfare on Mandela Day

If you want to do some good on Mandela Day, consider helping Germiston Child Welfare.

It will soon be Nelson Mandela’s birthday and, in honour of this, Mandela Day.

Mandela Day gives people a chance to give back and be of service to others.

“As we prepare for our chance to give back in honour of the decades Mandela spent in sacrifice so that we could live in a better world, we think of his words, that it is in our hands to make a difference,” said Barbara Bouwer, director of Germiston Child Welfare.

“Our hands can change the world for the better; we have the power to make a difference.

“This is one of the most poignant messages from this great South African, who looked not to celebrity and glamour, but to ordinary people and their role in the world.

“When we plan for Nelson Mandela International Day, on July 18, this year, let’s do him proud in that we understand that to truly honour his legacy we should give back to our communities.”

There are many things with which Germiston Child Welfare needs help.

Assistance can come in the form of donations or time spent at the society, every bit helps.

If you can’t spare the time, you can still help.

Germiston Child Welfare is providing you with the opportunity of donating R67 towards the charity, and this money will be used to pay a local unemployed person in the community to work on your behalf for the 67 Minutes on Mandela Day.

“So, not only will you be contributing to a great cause, someone other than just our charity will benefit, as well,” Barbara said.

“With all the planning needed to make this day special, please make your donations as soon as possible, to ensure that we can make this day a success.”
