Children made a fuss of by police

The Germiston SAPS visited the Goodhope informal settlement recently to spend time with the children.

The Germiston police, under the leadership of Col Recson Shiburi, celebrated Child Protection Week recently by preparing food for less fortunate children in their policing district.

The soup and bread, as well as clothes donated by members of the Germiston Police Station were handed out to some of the children in the Goodhope informal settlement in Germiston Extension Five by Sgt Olga Masetla and Const Queen Sibeko with the help of the Germiston Crime Prevention team.

Shiburi thanked all the police officers who made the project a success.

“The aim of the day was to just make the children from Extension Five happy to have something warm to wear and something warm in their tummies,” said WO André de Jager, spokesman for the Germiston SAPS.
