Great results at tennis tournament

Young tennis players show growth at Ekurhuleni Tennis School of Excellence (ETSOE)’s weekly tournaments.

Ekurhuleni Tennis School of Excellence (ETSOE) played their weekly tennis tournament at the Germiston Stadium, recently.

“Ten players participated and round-robin matches were played,” said ETSOE’s head coach, Loyiso Matsha.

“This competition is very effective in uplifting the standard of the juniors.

“The tournament was played over two weeks and the players have showed improvement throughout.

“The tournament was split in two, section A and B.

“Jordan Morais won section A with 24 points and Ronel Beukes won section B with 19 points.”

Among other players who have benefited from these tournaments is Jaydan Rooskrantz (9).

“Rooskrantz has shown great improvement and among other achievements, he is the u-10 singles champion of the Mahikeng Tennis Open and the Gauteng East singles and doubles champion,” explained Matsha.

“The tennis courts are unfortunately cracked and we need to get them repaired soon.

“We appeal to companies and community members to help us resurface the courts, even if it is just one.

“This would really help our youngsters play in a decent environment.”
