Men allegedly rob old age home

Two men were arrested for theft, for allegedly stealing seven beds from an old age home.

Two men were recently arrested by the Katlehong South police.

The men, aged 21 and 22, were charged with theft after they allegedly stole seven beds from a Vosloorus Extension 20 old age home.

“The two were arrested when after they attempted to sell the stolen bed parts at a local scrapyard,” said Capt Mega Ndobe, communications official for the Katlehong SAPS.

“An employee at the scrapyard alerted police to the incident, while the men were still in the scrapyard.”

The men will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrates Court soon.

“The men have not told police where the remaining beds steel, sponge and bedding from the remaining beds are hidden,” Ndobe said.
