Young tennis players receive helping hand

Three local tennis academies join together to focus on the development of young talent.

Three Germiston-based tennis academies have joined together to focus on skill development for young players.

To do this the academies, namely Ekurhuleni Tennis School of Excellence, Ace Tennis Academy and Coached by Nel Tennis Academy, have launched a weekly tournament programme, which was started on May 22, and will see coaches playing alongside and against junior players.

The friendly tournaments are held at the Germiston Stadium each Sunday, and all local tennis players are welcome to participate, no matter their skill level.

Coach Loyiso Matsha, the founder of the weekly tournament said: “I got the idea from my time in the US.”
