Last Monday night the EMPD arrested a 30-year-old man in the Moleleki section of Katlehong.
The man was found to be in the possession of a hijacked motor vehicle and an unlicensed firearm, after officers followed a signal from the vehicle’s tracking system.
When the suspect saw the officers he attempted to escape but was cornered by the EMPD and arrested.
While being booked in at the Katlehong Police Station it was discovered that the man was linked to the 2011 murder of a Katlehong policeman, as well as, a rape and kidnapping case.
The man will appear in the Palm Ridge Magistrate’s Court soon.
