Child Welfare launches new logo

The Greater Germiston Society for Child and Family Welfare has come a long way from its humble beginnings in August 1912, and has now launched a new logo.

The logo was launched at the society’s offices, in Kinross Street, Germiston South, last Friday.

“With the assistance of a graphic designer and some research three suggested logos were presented for consideration, for which the staff had the opportunity to vote,” explained the director of Germiston Child Welfare, Barbara Bouwer.

“We not only let the staff vote for the new logo, but also for the colours that should be used in the logo.”

Initially aimed at meeting the material needs of families in the Germiston community, the organisation has become a beacon of hope for the community it services.

The Greater Germiston Society for Child and Family Welfare has a proud history in the rendering of welfare services in the Germiston area, is a well-established and well-known resource in the welfare sector and has added significant value to the provision of social services in the mentioned communities.

The society offers the following services: non-statutory family care; foster care; related foster care; emergency care; family reunification services; a school-based support programme and school holiday programmes.

In a bid to continuously improve its services to the community, the organisation has been slowly improving its offices, with the help of generous donations from various organisations, including the Germiston Rotary Club and Multichoice.

The organisation plans to continue its work in the community under the new logo and slogan: “Together, Protecting Children.”
