Operation “Bumper to Bumper” targets drugs in Katlehong high schools.

EMPD officers raided two high schools in Katlehong, on Thursday.

The schools, which have problems with regards to unbecoming conduct and the abuse of drugs by some of the pupils, were targeted by the officers as part of Operation Bumper to Bumper, between 8am and 1pm.

Searches at the two schools produced six arrests.

Two Grade 10 male pupils from Katlehong High School, aged 17 and 18, were nabbed for possession of six ziplock bags of dagga, while two Grade 11 and 12 male pupils from Fumana High were arrested for possession of two dagga ziplock bags and an Okapi knife.

A tip-off from Fumana pupils also led to the arrest of an alleged supplier of these drugs.
