Runners take on Alan Robb Race

Runners brave the early morning chill to take part in the 2016 Alan Robb Race.

The chilly morning did nothing to deter the hundreds of runners who gathered at the Germiston Stadium recently, for the 2016 Alan Robb Race.

The race, formerly known as the Legends Race, included a 15km and a 32km race, as well as a 5km fun run.

The event is held annually by the Germiston Callies Harriers in honour of Alan Robb, who won four Comrades Marathons in Callies’ colours.

This year’s route took runners around Germiston Lake and down Elsburg Road, while the 15km racers branched off and returned to the finish at the Stadium via Parkhill Road and Webber Road, and the 32km runners continued into Elsburg before heading through Alberton and back around Germiston to finish at the stadium.
