East Rand rider jumps to victory

Nicola Sime-Riley was the winner of the Nissan Easter Festival’s adult 1.50m Nissan SA outdoor grand prix.

East Rand rider Nicola Sime-Riley wowed crowds at the 2016 Nissan Easter Festival, held at Kyalami Equestrian Park, when she won the adult 1.50m Nissan SA Outdoor Grand Prix, last Monday.

The fiercely competitive class saw Sime-Riley and her horse, A Square Forklifts Elpaso, achieving the only three clear rounds in the competition.

They faced off against 25 experienced riders from across the country.

While South Africa’s top riders and horses were undoubtedly the main attraction, the festival offered much more for the whole family, including dressage classes, dog agility, a fancy dress class and a whole lot of showjumping leading up to the main class.

The event organisers were thrilled with the turnout to the festival and look forward to next year.
