Igeu ”Smiley” Kabesa (22) has come a long way from his humble beginnings, growing up at the Epworth Children’s Village, in Lambton.
The EFC featherweight champion and a team from Scuffle Sportsman visited the home last Sunday, to spend some time with the children and to hand out Easter eggs.

“I grew up here and wanted to give back,” Kabesa said.
“After winning my title it seemed like the perfect time to get involved.”
“Kabesa has chosen the home as his charity project and will continue to support it going forward,” explained Jason van Schalkwyk, from Scuffle Sportsman.
The management team at Scuffle Sportsman encourages the community to get involved in fund-raising efforts.
“If you would like to get involved in Kabesa’s fund-raising effort email info@scuffle.co.za,” said Van Schalkwyk.
