The Nippon Tigers Shotokan Karate Club, located in Castleview, recently took part in the Traditional Karate Tournament.
The tournament was organised by the World Authority Traditional Karate-do Association and took place in Lenasia.
Nadia Calore, a red belt holder, represented the club and achieved a silver medal for individual kata.
Sensei Goran Stankovic, in congratulating Calore said, “I am so proud of her, for being so brave to compete in a division, in which she was by far the youngest competitor – all the others, age and karate-wise were much more experienced, being a mix of brown and black belt holders.”
