Members of the police and community of Primrose are mourning the death of WO Herman Thape, who passed away recently, at the age of 54, after a long illness.

He is survived by his wife and five sons.

Born on March 21, Thape started his career at the Etwatwa Police Station in 1989, where he completed his field training.

He later moved to Primrose for a short time, before being dispatched to the Benoni SAPS Vehicle Theft Unit.

He returned to Primrose, where he was based in the Sap6 store (document filing).

“The community and his colleagues will miss Thape and we convey our condolences to the family,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.
