Take care of your car

The Primrose police are calling on the community to help lower the number of vehicles stolen in Primrose.

The Primrose police are appealing to the community to help reduce the number of vehicle thefts in the area.

“We still have people who leave their valuables in their vehicles at night, or park them on the pavements instead of in a yard or garage,” said Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

“We ask that the community help the police fight crime, not encourage criminals.”

Here are some vehicle safety tips that community members should bear in mind at all times:

  •  Remove all valuables, for example, laptops, cellphones and toolboxes.
  •  Make sure to park vehicles in a safe place and not outside your yard.
  •  Check if all doors and gates are closed and locked.
  •  Car stereos with removable faces should be removed before exiting the vehicle.

To report any suspicious vehicles or behaviour contact the patrol vehicles on 071 675 6864/5/6/7/8/9.
