Brand new drift season underway at the Rock Raceway

Round one Cambees Midas drift championship at the Rock Raceway on February 13.

A brand new year benchmarks a brand new drift season as the first round of the Cambees Midas Drift Championship gets under way at the Rock Raceway circuit in Brakpan on February 13.

The sideways drift masters will take up the gauntlet laid out by the judges as they try to impress them with their style, flair and sideways antics without losing the drift.

Drifters from all over South Africa and from neighbouring Mozambique are expected to make their way to the circuit to take on the first round of the championships.

Bring your banners along with your friends, family and neighbours to relish in the sideways Milwaukee, as the drifters purposefully smoke and shred tyres to oblivion.

Patrons can make their way to the circuit from 10am when gates open and witness a whole day’s practice session before the main event begins at 4pm.

The next Bandit Street 2 Strip drags take place on Sunday, gates open at 2pm and the racing starts at 4pm.

Bass Triggers will also be on hand for the sound-off fans, as they test the beat boxes of various chariots.

If you think you have what it takes to have the highest DB readings then bring your daily drive along and enter the sound-off competition.

There will also be a Dyno Day for the petrol heads who want to test their HP output.

Gates open at 3pm and the event starts at 4pm.

Bring your daily drive along and enjoy street drags in a safe environment.
