Triple the fun

Elsburg triplets start their school careers.

Almost six years ago the GCN showed off the Myburgh triplets for the first time.

They appeared in the GCN on September 10, 2010, when they were ready to leave the Life Roseacres Hospital.

The girls, aged five, were born on August 16 and, at that time, were the first set of triplets to be born at the hospital in 13 years.

Now, Simoné, Deidré and Amoré, have taken the first steps in their academic careers.

They have been enrolled in the Grade R class at Dinky Dolly Nursery School, in Elsburg.

The GCN caught up with them, their mother Alma and grandmother Alma Beukes, at the school, on Thursday.

So far the girls are enjoying going to school, but it is taking them some time to adjust.

Mom Alma told the GCN that they all have very different personalities and are strong-willed.

The girls live with their parents, Alma and Morné, and granny, in Parnell Road, Elsburg.

Beukes told the GCN that the girls are very attached to her, especially Amoré.

Amoré was the last born of the three and the smallest at birth.

“She loves to do everything with me and still sleeps in my room,” said Beukes.

Alma said that the young ladies are quite independent, but they seem to rely on Deidré (the second born) to take the lead.

“They seem to all have different roles – Simoné is the protector, Deidré is the boss and Amoré is the follower,” said Alma.

“They don’t fight often and, if other children fight with or pick on one of them, the other two will protect their sibling.”

Alma also said the youngsters are very clever and enjoy playing games on the tablet.

They also know how to get themselves something to eat from the fridge and are very helpful with the housework.

“The three of them make a great team and you should see how well they clean the house together,” Beukes said.

The triplets’ older sisters, Monique (16) and Jessica (12), are protective of their young sisters and adore them.

Next year, Alma said, they will be enrolling the triplets at Laerskool Delville for Grade One.

Deidré told the GCN that they like school a lot and Simoné added that they like to play on their jungle gym, write and play on their tablet at home.

Amoré added that they also like animals and love playing with their dogs and their hamster, “Hammy”.
