The IEB class of 2015 celebrate

Germiston’s private schools celebrate a 100 per cent pass rate.

The IEB matric results were released at midnight, on Wednesday.

Many private school students waited in anticipation to find out if all their hard work had paid off.

Students from Germiston’s local private schools, St Catherine’s School and Assumption Convent, were thrilled to discover they had all passed their final exams.

St Catherine’s School achieved a 100 per cent pass rate.

Of the 31 pupils, 77 per cent of the students achieved a degree pass and the remaining 23 per cent of the students received a diploma pass.

“This means that every St Catherine’s student has qualified to apply to study at a tertiary institution, which has been our main focus,” explained Joanne Crosby, principal of St Catherine’s School.

“We believe that success is not measured by the number of distinctions achieved in the final matric exams but rather the long term values that students have acquired.”

Forty-eight students sat their exams at Assumption Convent.

The school achieved a 100 per cent pass rate, with 77 distinctions in total and 95 per cent of the school’s students passing with a degree pass, the remaining five per cent passed their exams with a diploma pass.

“I am very pleased with the results.”
