Give a little to aid the children

Epworth Children’s Village desperately needs the help of the community.

The children have smiles on their faces and full bellies.

But this may not be forever, as Epworth Children’s Village is struggling to make ends meet in the tough economic climate with which we are currently faced.

The home helps and has helped countless youngsters and is appealing to the community to assist, either financially or with donations, to allow the good work to continue.

Epworth is committed to making a difference and is proud of its achievements in 2015.

The top three achievements, among others, are:

  • Ten intern psychologists went through the home this year, making Epworth one of the biggest intern sites in the country.
  • Over 20 000 people benefited from Epworth’s professional psychological services. In the region of 2 500 therapy and assessment clients received services at the Germiston site.
  • Epworth provided basic care, schooling, food, etc, to 80 children, and the home is extremely proud to be returning 10 children from the residential facility to their families.

“We cannot work in isolation and rely on support in all areas,” said Roberta Ingrato, public relations and human resources manager for the village.

“At Epworth we are very focused on ensuring that we keep costs to a minimum and this is where you come in.

“Would you consider Epworth worthy of your support?

“We are completely reliant on charitable donations in order to be able to continue to provide these services.

“That is why we ask you to remember the village with a charitable gift in support of our important work during the Christmas season.

“Any amount you can share will be greatly appreciated and put to good use right here, at the home.”

Epworth has simplified the donation procedure, allowing supporters to donate online via the webpage, www.epworthvillage.org.za.
