Woman arrested on attempted murder charge

Man allegedly attacked and stabbed by girlfriend and her ex-boyfriend.

A man was recently left seriously injured after allegedly being attacked by his girlfriend and her ex-boyfriend.

“The victim explained to officers that he went looking for his girlfriend in the Marathon informal settlement, after not seeing her for a while,” explained Sgt Styles Maome, communications officer for the Primrose police.

Having no luck finding her he returned home.

He found the door to the shack he shared with his girlfriend was locked from the inside.

“He knocked on the door and his girlfriend, her ex-boyfriend and two other men stepped out of the shack,” Maome said.

The men begun to assault the victim and threatened him with a firearm.

“During the men’s assault the woman allegedly stabbed her boyfriend with a sharp object,” said Maome.

The 40-year-old woman was arrested by the Primrose police shortly after the attack.

She will appear in the Germiston Magistrates Court soon.

“We are still searching for the men allegedly involved in the attack,” Maome said.
