East Rand-born Lira will be taking the stage at Carnival City by storm in November.

Sensational, super-talented SA songstress, Daveyton-born Lira is set to light up the stage at Carnival City in November when she brings her Evolution tour home to Ekurhuleni.

The uber-star performs live at the Big Top Arena on November 27 and 28.

Lira’s concerts, according to the casino’s events and entertainment manager, Matthew Cook, are among the highlights of Carnival City’s sizzling summer entertainment calendar.

“Lira is one of South Africa’s biggest stars and we are anticipating a record crowd for her concerts. Her music has mass appeal and she has an energetic and enigmatic stage presence that is certain to wow our audiences. We are thrilled to be hosting her on our stage as she performs for her home crowd,” Cook said.

Concertgoers will be treated to all of Lira’s classics, as well as an exclusive showcase of songs from her much anticipated fifth studio album that is due for release in early 2016.

The not to be missed Evolution concert series will see audiences witness a new path for Lira and sets an exciting tone of great things to come.

“Every time I perform in the East Rand, I feel like I am coming home and this time I am bringing something special for the family,” said Lira.

Lira, born as Lerato Molapo, is a multi-platinum selling and award winning Afro-soul vocalist. She describes her music as a fusion of soul and funk with elements of jazz and African.

She grew up listening to Miriam Makeba, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin and Nina Simone who eventually inspired her own songwriting. Lira began performing live at the age of 16, singing both cover versions and self-penned songs.

Lira has spent the last 12 years solidifying her place in the South African music industry and has done countless shows and events across the globe and released a full album in the USA last year.

Ambitiously striding forward with her musical pursuits, Lira was also recently confirmed as a judge on a top reality TV show.
