He also encouraged parents to support and help their children through their studies.

The semi-autonomous, non-profit organisation was established in September, 2013, by Tom Shupikai.

“We started with only five students, and have grown from there,” said Shupikai.

“We do not, however, want to grow too big and lose our ability to teach the children on a one-on-one basis.”

The organisation focuses on the transition from Grade Three to Four, and Grade Seven and Eight.

“We feel these are significant transition phases.

“Change can be difficult, but it can also be beautiful,” said Muvhami.

Maths Our World caters for children from schools across Germiston, with the support of local government and schools.

During the presentation Muvhami opened the floor to some of the students and parents, giving them a chance to share their experiences with the organisation.

The event ended with an informal question and answer session.
