Child Welfare gets much-needed assistance from Rotary

Rotary club works hard to help the community.

The Germiston Rotary Club has been hard at work helping the Greater Germiston Society for Child and Family Welfare.

Germiston Child Welfare’s director, Barbara Bouwer, is extremely grateful for the help and work they have been putting into the society.

In the first project, the Rotary Club purchased and delivered food parcels to the society.

“These parcels are distributed to the vulnerable children and families with whom we work,” said Bouwer.

“The food parcels are part of our nutritional support programme to families in need of support, due to circumstances.”

In the second project, the Germiston Rotary Club helped to renovate the toilet facilities for clients at the Child Welfare offices in Kinross Street, Germiston South.

“The toilet facilities for clients at our offices have been in a bad state for many years and we have been attempting to secure funding to renovate for a number of years,” Bouwer said.

“Finally, we have been able to improve the facilities and thus assist in ensuring that the dignity of our clients is protected.

“Thank you to the Germiston Rotary Club for contributing towards this initiative by paying for the roof sheeting and ceiling repairs.”

Bower added that she values all the support the Rotary Club has given to Germiston Child Welfare over the years.
