Turbo Toys Drift Championships happening in October

Adrenalin-filled action at the Rock Raceway.

The final round of the Turbo Toys Drift Championships will get under way at The Rock Raceway circuit, in Brakpan, on October 3.

“The drift judges will determine, among other things, who will clinch the final podium spots and who secures the ultimate drift title of the Turbo Toys Championships, in the gold cup eliminations division,” said Abie Sada, marketing manager and commentator at The Rock Raceway.

“All is not lost for competitors who do not qualify to participate in the Turbo Toys Drift Championship, known as the gold cup eliminations.

“Silver cup eliminations will ensure that drifters still get to compete in drifting and that they can still enjoy the sideways experience and walk off with some silverware in hand.”

Germiston’s drifter and supporter, Marietjie Barnard, will be among those present at The Rock, showing her support for her favourite drifters.

“The drift masters will pick up the gauntlet laid down by the judges as they try impress them with their style, flair and sideways antics without losing the drift,” explained Sada.

“Drifters from all over are expected to make their way to the circuit to take on the final round of the championships.

“Bring your family, friends and neighbours and enjoy the action as the drifters purposefully smoke and shred tyres to oblivion.”

Supporters can make their way to the circuit from 10am, when gates open, and witness a whole day’s practise session before the main event begins at 4pm.
