Women arrested for armed robbery

Laptops and cellphone stolen in armed robbery.

The Primrose police recently arrested two women, aged 28 and 35, on charges of armed robbery.

The police were alerted to the robbery by a man who claimed he was in Western Street, in Solheim, when a white Toyota Yaris stopped next to him.

“It is reported that the vehicle’s occupants pointed a firearm at the victim and the woman he was talking to.

“They demanded the pair’s two laptops and a Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphone and then they drove away,” said communications officer for the Primrose police, Sgt Styles Maome.

Detectives from the Primrose Police Station followed several leads that led to the arrest of the two women.

The accused appeared in the Germiston Magistrates Court, where their case was postponed for a bail application.
