Could this be the Golf Successor? Volkswagen ID.2all Concept

The automotive world is abuzz with excitement as Volkswagen recently unveiled its latest electric vehicle concept, the ID. 2all.

The pre-production study of the ID. 2all is expected to be the successor of the iconic Golf, and it is scheduled for release in the European market in 2025.

Upon first glance, the ID. 2all looks strikingly similar to the anticipated all-electric Golf. However, the it is more than just a futuristic concept car, it is a preview of what we can expect from Volkswagen’s next generation of EVs.

Volkswagen’s goal with the ID. 2all is to create a vehicle that is as spacious as a Golf but as affordable as a Polo. To achieve this, the ID. 2all is built on the latest evolutionary stage of the modular electric drive (MEB) platform, which provides great flexibility in terms of design and technology.

One exciting feature of the ID. 2all is that it will be the first MEB vehicle with front-wheel drive. This enables Volkswagen to create a particularly efficient and powerful electric drive system that boasts an output of 166 kW and a calculated WLTP range of up to 450 kilometres. This is about the same power output as a base VW Golf GTI.

The exterior of the ID. 2all is designed to be both friendly and dynamic. It features a full-width LED light bar, bulged wheel arches, and 20-inch wheels that give the car a powerful stance, the vehicle also features a straight window line and hidden rear door handles. The new C-pillar design pays homage to the first Golf, it’s clear that the ID. Golf badge would fit perfectly on this vehicle.

The interior of the ID. 2all is equally impressive, with a clean dashboard, bridge-type centre console, and two rectangular displays. The 12,9-inch centre touchscreen has a new menu structure, while the 10,9-inch digital cockpit provides all the essential information. The EV concept introduces new power seats with a massage function, a multifunction steering wheel with two thumbwheels on each side, numerous USB-C interfaces, and a fully usable 230 Volt socket.

With its spacious interior, powerful electric drive system, and sleek design, it has all the makings of a worthy successor to the Golf. Volkswagen is clearly taking great care to ensure that the Golf name lives on in its new generation of EVs, we just have to wait and see if the new ID.2all will wear an ID. Golf Badge in the future.
